Season Greetings, Fylde Coast! It’s December, so officially acceptable to open up a blog in this way, right?
Now the more eagle eyed readers (or watchers) amongst you may see some parallels between this article and other posts/videos we have released throughout the month of November. However, if something is worth saying then it can’t be said enough so let’s get stuck straight in to why the Christmas period is a truly magical time to be selling your Fylde Coast property.
The view of the majority of home owners at this time of year is that nobody is interested in viewing or buying property in December. Everybody is busy shopping, eating & spending time with family. They write December off as a ‘waste of time’, and the really scary thing is that many an Estate Agent would whole heartedly agree with this logic; but what if I told you, you were wrong?
Like any other industry, the property industry does benefit & suffer from seasonal highs & lows. With that said, it’s likely that you won’t have a budding purchaser walking around your home, bouncing on your couch or taking your left over turkey on Boxing Day – nor would you want them too, right? However, whilst the festivities may stop people physically passing through your door for a few days, what the Christmas period does give us all, is more free time…
As ‘home hunters’ of The Fylde put the board games away and nurse a ‘food baby’ late in to the evening as they await the Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special air on repeat, the one thing they will have is ‘free time’. Bags of it infact. Now whether you love it or loathe it, the reality is that we tend to utilise our free time connected to a device, passively scrolling through social media or looking for inspiration on property portal websites, such as Rightmove. This is a critical period where quite literally millions of eye balls will be glued to the platforms where your Fylde Coast property ought to be advertised. From the comfort of their own homes, I can assure you that many potential viewers will be making enquiries and drawing a short list of ‘hot homes’ to add to their viewing schedule before (or after) the New Year. By postponing your marketing, your ‘could be buyer’ may well be out making offers on the homes of your competition.
This year leading property portal website, Rightmove.co.uk, forecasts an increase in traffic of an outstanding 231% for the period between Boxing Day & New Year. Last year, Boxing Day trumped all days for the most amounts of visits in any one day.
The statistics really do speak for themselves, if you are serious about selling your Fylde Coast property then don’t miss this unique time of the year to maximise your opportunities.
